Diane Thieste

Bio:

Diane has worked for AFTER SCHOOL since 2004.  She has been the director of Camp Pleasant Valley for three years, and has been a camp program specialist. During the school year, she is the site supervisor at Arboretum Elementary School.  A lifelong resident of Madison, Diane went to LaFollette High School, then to MATC for her degree as a dietetic technician, and later for her lead teacher certification.  She and her husband have two daughters and a lab mix named Ginger.  Diane enjoys camping, reading, working, and playing with the kids.

Camp Pleasant Valley celebrates over 10 years of serving schoolagers from throughout the Waunakee area in the best spot in town - the Waunakee Village Center.   The program is based in the lower level community rooms where we have access to a kitchen, a camp office with storage, restrooms and most importantly the playgrounds, shelters and fields within Village Park.   Campers can also explore the creek that runs through the park, and do so with shoes on and under the supervision of a lifeguard.  Waunakee means "the fair and pleasant valley" and we are proud to partner with the Village of Waunakee to offer Camp Pleasant Valley in such a beautiful location.
