Programs: World Languages

For many children, the elementary years are the best time to introduce a new language. Learning a second language can boost a child’s understanding of their own language, enhancing their academic experience. This program offers children exposure to another language in a relaxed environment under the guidance of qualified instructors.

Language classes in Spanish, French and German are offered at a number of schools in the Dane County Region. Classes are 25 weeks in length, and generally begin in October and end in April. Classes do not meet on non-school days, in-service days, holidays or during winter and spring break. Classes missed due to instructor illness or emergency will be made up during the weeks of May.

Children who are enrolled are expected to meet their instructor at the World Language program within five minutes after school is dismissed.  Please note that enrollment is on a first come first served basis.  Spaces are limited and classes are enrollment dependent.

New classes are available at Orchard Ridge, and registration is due Feb. 19.  You may also be able to get your child registered for classes currently running at your child's school.  Simply download the registration form, being careful to select only from the World Language classes that are in listed on the schedule for your child's school below; please note that these class offerings/times below are the accurate ones.   Fees will be prorated for the sessions remaining.   Please contact us with any questions on class availability.
