Programs: BOOST
BOOST stands for Building on Out of School Time and was developed as a special curriculum to enrich the experiences of the younger children in After School programs. While not as structured as their elementary school classroom, BOOST is designed to promote learning, expose children to new ideas and experiences, and most importantly to help children have fun. The curriculum consists of five broad areas of study and activities that help children practice life skills and learn about the larger world.
Units Include:
It’s a Wonderful World—Geography, World Languages, World History, Maps and Atlases, Cultural and Ethnic Diversity
Games Galore—Sports Trivia/History, Cooperative Games, Physical fitness, Strategy Games, Board Games
Life & Leisure—Cooking/Nutrition, Hobbies, Self-Care, Safety
Arts Ala Carte—Arts and Crafts, Performance Arts, Music, Art Appreciation/History
The Great Outdoors—Outdoor/Nature Exploration, Physical Sciences and Experiments
