The AFTER SCHOOL Spring 4-H Fair is a celebration of all that is unique and wonderful about AFTER SCHOOL programs. The fair is an opportunity for children from our programs to come together and share all that they’ve done throughout the year. The fair is also a way for families to experience the kinds of activities that go on at their child’s AFTER SCHOOL program throughout the year and appreciate all their children have learned.
There is much to see and do at the fair. All sites have exhibits including things like drawings, scrapbooks, banners, art work, craft items, science experiments or photo displays. Sites may also sell various products at the fair such as cookies, jewelry, stationery, coffee, or even dog biscuits! All products are made by the children with the proceeds going towards something the children have selected such as a donation to a charitable organization or to pay for a special outing for the program. Children from some sites may participate in the fair by presenting a brief skit, dance or other performance. 4-H judging of projects is also a part of the fair. A special feature of the Waukesha Region fair is the Family Fun Zone where community organizations and businesses have booths with hands-on activities for children. Children may also display their Celebration of Art entries.
All AFTER SCHOOL families, staff, and board members are invited to attend this colorful event. Public and private school staff where AFTER SCHOOL programs are located are also welcome to attend. A light supper is provided. Fairs are held in both the Dane and Waukesha Regions. |
