Special Programs: All & Half Days
Public and private schools are closed or dismissed early from time to time to allow for teacher inservices. After School offers programs at selected locations on those days when school is closed or children are dismissed early. These programs are called All Day Programs (ADP’s) and Half Day Programs (HDP’s). These Special Days do not include Winter Break, Spring Break or Summer Camp programs. A separate fee and registration is required for any ADP's or HDP's for all families. These days are not included with regular program enrollment.
All Day Programs are available from early morning until normal program sign-out. Half Day Programs are available from school dismissal until the end of the program day, either 5:45 pm or 6 pm based on the community. These programs combine the K-2 and the 3–5 grade students in one group during the day. For All Day programs parents usually arrive with their children by 9:00 a.m. Morning and afternoon snacks are provided, including a beverage. Children are to bring a sack lunch that does not need to be refrigerated. Milk is provided with lunch.
All Day and Half Day programs provide more time to offer opportunities such as seasonal events and more involved projects, guests, field trips or other special activities. Check with your Site Supervisor as the date draws near to hear about activities planned.
