Programs: 4-H Clubs
Because After School believes in hands-on learning for children, linking with 4-H where children learn a skill and develop their own project was a natural connection. 4-H programming is offered at nearly all sites for children participating in Club programs, third grade and older. 4-H dues are paid by After School. Participating in 4-H allows the children to work on long term, more complex projects. Past projects have included sewing, rocketry, wood working, tie dyeing, weaving, basketry, cooking, music and drama. Participation is voluntary. Children who wish to may enter their projects for 4-H judging in the annual After School fair in April. They may also enter projects in local county fairs.
