Programs: 4-H Clubs
Because AFTER SCHOOL believes in hands-on learning for children, linking with 4-H where children learn a skill and develop their own project was a natural connection.
4-H programming is offered at nearly all sites for children participating in Club programs, third grade and older. 4-H dues are paid by AFTER SCHOOL. Participating in 4-H allows the children to work on long term, more complex projects. Past projects have included sewing, rocketry, wood working, tie-dyeing, weaving, basketry, cooking, music and drama. Participation is voluntary. Children who wish to may enter their projects for 4-H judging in the annual AFTER SCHOOL Spring 4-H Fair in April. They may also enter projects in local county fairs.
