Harjinder Mahtta

Bio:

Harjinder started with AFTER SCHOOL in the fall of 2008.  She graduated from Punjab University in India, acquiring her Bachelor of Education and Masters degrees in political science and philosophy.  Harjinder enjoys working with children of all ages.  Her experience with children includes working in elementary, middle and high schools in India as a teacher for 19 years.  She enjoys cooking, gardening, reading and spending time with her family.

Lowell's AFTER SCHOOL programs are located in the gym where children have fun creating with building materials, sewing,painting, hand weaving, candy making, and many other projects.  Recreation outside includes playing on the basketball courts, the school's large soccer field, an excercise obstacle course, and on the colorful playground equipment.  Group games with a huge parachute is a favorite with the children.  Lowell offers Before School, AFTER SCHOOL BOOST and Club programs.  Lowell AFTER SCHOOL is a choice-based program.  We believe in offering many opportunities for kids to have fun and explore their interests.  Kid input is important too!  We encourage their suggestions for safe, appropriate activities.  We provide a welcoming atmosphere that supports friendships and builds social skills, daily homework time with adult help and outdoor play every day (weather permitting) for good health.
