Bio:

Pam started with AFTER SCHOOL in January 1996; she works as a supervisor for our school year program and as a camp director with summer day camp.  She has a BS degree in Health, Recreation and Physical Education and English.  Pam's experience with youth began in her teenage years with babysitting, life guarding, and teaching swimming.  Now she has been working with children for about 40 years-- Scouts, Young Life, camps (residential and day), teaching, volunteer work and raising her own kids.  Pam enjoys spending time with her 3 cats, traveling to Montana to see her grandchild, gardening, hiking, cooking, and music.

Fox Prairie AFTER SCHOOL BOOST and Club meet in the gym.   Children can use the quiet area to read books or can join in arts and crafts projects, homework club or snack time.  They can also choose to play games or use small manipulatives and building toys or can take part in fantasy play with dolls, circus toys, toy airplanes and more.  The outside area includes the school's prairie, large fields, and two playground equipment areas for active play.   Fox Prairie AFTER SCHOOL is a choice-based program.  We believe in offering many opportunities for kids to have fun and explore their interests.  Kid input is important too!  We encourage their suggestions for safe, appropriate activities.  We provide a welcoming atmosphere that supports friendships and builds social skills, daily homework time with adult help and outdoor play every day (weather permitting) for good health.   Third, fourth and fifth graders can participate in 4-H programming.  Scouting is offered at some sites based on child interest and availability of volunteers.  Many of our Dane County AFTER SCHOOL sites offer enrichment classes.  These include World Language, art and science classes.  Click here to learn more.   Enrichment classes can be arranged at most AFTER SCHOOL sites if there is enough interest.  Email janderson@wisconsinyouthcompany.org to learn more.
