207 Academy St. Mt. Horeb 53572 Families from Mt. Horeb Early Learning Center, Primary and Intermediate buildings are served by the program located within Mt. Horeb Primary. From the Early Learning Center children walk with our staff to their after school BOOST program (for kindergarten through 2nd grade) at the Primary Center. At school dismissal, children from the Intermediate Center are met by our staff at the school office, and transported by Wisconsin Youth Company mini-bus to their after school Club program (for 3rd grade and up) at the Primary Center. 	Mt. Horeb AFTER SCHOOL meets in the Primary Center cafeteria in two adjacent rooms, so that BOOST and Club children have opportunities to create and explore with their peers. The children may may participate in dramatic play, math and science, sensory activities, art or have time alone to read or do homework. The large playground offers places to climb on the equipment, to play basketball or group games like freeze-tag. Mt. Horeb AFTER SCHOOL is a choice-based program. We believe in offering many opportunities for kids to have fun and explore their interests. Kid input is important too! We encourage their suggestions for safe, appropriate activities. We provide a welcoming atmosphere that supports friendships and builds social skills, daily homework time with adult help and outdoor play every day (weather permitting) for good health. Third, fourth and fifth graders can participate in 4-H programming. Scouting is offered at some sites based on child interest and availability of volunteers. Many of our Dane County AFTER SCHOOL sites offer enrichment classes. These include World Language, art and science classes. Click here to learn more.
