School Year Programs
Of AFTER SCHOOL's 38 program sites at public and private schools, 22 serve six Dane County communities, one serves two Iowa County communities, and 14 serve seven Waukesha County communities.
Our before school program (starting at either 6:30 or 7 a.m. at your child’s school) welcomes your child to enjoy a time with our staff doing homework or special projects, reading books, or playing games. When school begins, your child just walks to their classroom.
AFTER SCHOOL children grades K-2nd experience BOOST (Building on Out of School Time), a curriculum that includes fun activities within these themes:
- It’s a Wonderful World - Geography, World Languages, World History, Maps and Atlases, Cultural and Ethnic Diversity
- Games Galore - Sports Trivia/History, Cooperative Games, Physical fitness, Strategy Games, Board Games
- Life & Leisure - Cooking/Nutrition, Hobbies, Self-Care, Safety
- Arts Ala Carte - Arts and Crafts, Performance Arts, Music, Art Appreciation/History
- The Great Outdoors - Outdoor/Nature Exploration, Physical Sciences and Experiments
AFTER SCHOOL Club is for children 3rd - 5th grade. In club, kids have the opportunity to tackle long-term projects and explore topics in depth. Resources, materials and adult support provide encouragement to pursue their individual interests and work with their friends to learn about their world and their community.
